A brief chat with… Yash Shanghavi

For October’s Assay Q&A we will be getting to know our newest member of the team: Yash Shanghavi. Yash is an analyst based in our Birmingham office and has been with us for 5 months.

Tell us about what you are currently working on

I haven’t been at Assay long, as I am on my placement year – however I am supporting some really interesting deals, such as the sale of a software agency.

What non work-related achievement are you most proud of?

I was the was the Head of Events at a university society – over the year me and my team raised over £3000 for various charities.

What’s the first thing you would do if you won the lottery tomorrow?

20/80 split, of spending and investing.

Who would you say is your hero?

Don’t have a hero – I take inspiration from many individuals.

What’s the most challenging job you have ever done?

When I was younger, I used to go and mow lawns for the neighbours – which proved to be a struggle, because I suffer from hay fever.

When you are not at Assay what do you like to do to relax?

Many things – but primarily gym and going out.

Tell us something about yourself that people would be surprised about 

I used to play piano – and have achieved grade 5

What is your favourite food or restaurant?

Apart from home cooking – I love Lebanese food
